red cross stare

Most annoyingly we’ve managed to mislay the links leading us cryptically to details and more importantly – sound links to – I gather – new weird ear gear from that Justin Wiggan / Roadside Picnic chap – though judging by the postings scattered across FaceBook today I’m gathering that something entitled ‘deadsongs’ is threatening to break cover. Of course there’s a mooted Static Caravan outing that finds him paired up with Noah Howard. And then there’s this from red cross stare – his sometimes on / off sound lab tutorial with Simon Osgathorp and Yvat. Second album just out via feathered cayote entitled ‘answering our own wave’ finds Mr Wiggan’s usual outsider traits somewhat curbed, calmed and disciplined into sound-scapes ached in remoteness, detachment and solace, here neo classical carvings are squirreled away upon the disconnected whirr of found footage celluloid, ‘distances’ in particular arriving bruised in a hauntingly affecting reflective elegance.
