A box of curios….

a box of curios

if there was ever an ensemble deserving to be called sore thumbs then tuxedo moon have plenty in their sonic cabinet to be considered such, listening to their debuting offering from 1980 entitled ‘half mute’ – a hot bed of strangeness descends upon you, pigeonholed in to the avant-garde shelves probably because no one had the slightest idea of where it easily fit, even now all these years on it still sounds refreshingly ‘now’ yet simultaneously arriving from a world not yet envisaged, crafted musicians blending old school classicism and jazz with art rock forms and electronic edginess (suggested listening – ‘what use’ with its oblique chill mirroring elements of Foxx era Ultravox and the legendary pink dots)
