yuri morozov

Heading out of Buried Treasure shortly, an album we assume rescued from the vast recorded archive of Yuri Morozov. Information about Yuri is seriously sparse, its thought that behind the iron curtain and hidden away from the prying eyes of a KGB controlled Soviet state, that recorded something in the region of 60 plus albums, so strict where the controls over artistic freedom in the USSR during the 70’s and 80’s that much of his work was never officially released – and more is the point never heard outside of the Soviet territories – rathermore passed around secretively amid the underground  music loving communities on cassettes. A multi instrumentalist who dabbled in cosmic electronics, musique concrete, folk and psychedelia, his most widely known opus ‘the cherry garden of jimi hendrix’ was released in 2014 via the German imprint shadoks – sound files and notes can be found here – http://lightintheattic.net/releases/1326-the-cherry-garden-of-jimi-hendrix – buried treasure’s offering is a set entitled ‘strange angels’ – as yet no information – for now though lose yourself in the incredibly ahead iof the curve forward thinking sound worlds of ‘the inexplicable’ recorded in the late 70’s….

Elsewhere there’s a brief back story about Yuri by the guys over at sound projector here – http://www.thesoundprojector.com/2015/04/13/the-inexplicable/
