I’m guessing what we really need right now is some, well – ‘vodou free jazz’ as its author affectionately describes it, this is ‘tonton macoute’ by Anthony Osborne – a track that caught our ear earlier today, a furious improv hot pot threaded together by all manner of eerie radiophonic ghosts, earthbeat rhythms and some killer squirelling saxophone playing, the likes of which put us much in mind of Albert Ayler being party to some kind of hocus pocus face off with those schizoid dudes over at the much loved foolproof projects sound house.
