In celebration of their US tour starting, Plaid have released a free to download twin-set entitled ‘Bet’ / ‘Nat’ – the former cut on an insular setting that finds them reaching back to their younger selves distilling minimalist Detroit tech design patterns and working them into an intricate glitch shape shifter. Flip side features the blissfully purring ‘Nat’, the preferred side if truth be told, comes blessed with a wonderfully mooching and somewhat lazy eyed cybro-tronic bass twang all immersed into a curious hypno grooved artificial intelligence smooching funk pill that strangely draws from the Berlin school of cool electronics to imagine a slo-mo Herbie Hancock cutting slick sun refracting symphonic shapes out of Kraftwerk studio floor cuttings.
