david newlyn

remaining with Sound in Silence, the second of their recent brace of releases comes from David Newlyn with ‘collected fictions’ from off which we’ve found our ear space being seduced by the soothing ambient embrace of ‘hymn to bleachgreen’. Deeply mesmeric and somewhat floaty, this slice of ethereal dream drift ushers slowly into view almost eclipse like before disappearing into the nothing, though not before dispersing into every conceivable crook and cranny of the canvas arresting all its measured bliss bathed spell. While we still have you here, might also be best to draw your attention in the general direction of the glitch love note that is ‘close again’ replete as it with demurring dimples of jubilant sleepy headed rhythmic chuckles and a beautifully realised key traced dawn breaking motif which truth be told had us much imagining a love in between minotaur shock and Sone Institute. https://soundinsilencerecords.bandcamp.com/album/collected-fictions
