the season of death be upon us, the frozen fingers of winter forming disfiguring silhouettes in the icy glow of a frozen moon. Amid the darkening overcast of lengthening shadows and the twisted re-alignment of once familiar landscapes, the prevailing eerie stillness that haunts and hollows with spine tingling chills, is broken to the distant sound of an ominous overture, which with a dread calm, ushers close and over, like a deathly fog escaping from the sea on approach to land. Ever close, the overture draws near marking the passing of a deathly carnival whereupon the souls of the lost dance and make merry macabre on this, their one night of cold celebration. This be the Heartwood Institute and their Halloween offering ‘All Hallows Eve’ (available for download on – ahem – All Hallows Eve), a graceful ghost walker supernaturally harvesting from the imaginary fractures between dream and nightmare patrolling the wastelands left locked down in the buried sub-consciousness of a darkly disturbed John Carpenter imagination.
