angel delight

think all our moaning about the lack of festive electronica may well have prompted a certain Mr Handley to nudge us in the direction of Angel Delight’s ‘candy cane’. Certainly something that ought to appeal to those subscribing to the vibes of Electronic Sound and Polytechnic Youth for there’s definitely the sparse and minimalist swell of a late 70’s retro attuned to the worlds of classic Cabaret Voltaire and Mute afoot here. Distractively addictive, ‘candy cane’ morphs and mutates to a curiously playful and impish palette that fuses elements of a cold wave caustic with 8 bit blip bop, its icily oblique and abstract stratagem cooling like something freak fried face-off between the Flying Lizards and a seriously wiry Miss Kitten.
